Just Be

It is a quiet morning. My thoughts are quiet also. The weekend was busy, eventful and profound.

Thanks to the ones who encouraged me, loved me and supported me. The list is short. The list is important.

Please remember. People will treat you the way that they feel about you. NO expectations and always follow your heart.

I have birthday cards written and ready for the mailman. {Birthday Boy Zach, get ready!!} Laundry is almost finished, I am making a Christmas gift and it is just 8:00 am.

I am not in training any longer. The marathon is done till next year and I am working on Christmas gifts. I am waiting patiently for the Autumn weather and find myself encouraged to create and just BE.

I wish you the same good fortune.

Love you.

The Win

Today is the day.

Today I extended my walk. I was awake at 3:30 am, ready to go, except I don’t exercise in the dark. Then I fell back to sleep and woke with a “start”…throwing on my shorts and a t shirt. Darn. I just did not want to start the day half asleep.

I decided to add length to my walk on this special day. {more about that later} Last year I was very ill. During recovery, I stared walking. I have always been a walker and it felt right. During the summer {2018} Larry and I signed up for a quarter marathon. It is part of a half marathon in Dallas. Sounds easy, right? Baaahahahaha. I wish I had known then what I know now.

A quarter marathon is 6.5 miles. Last year I came in last. Larry says it was not dead last, but I think that he is being kind. Many people lined the path cheering for me. I ran the last bit, but it was embarassing. This year I will do better.

The marathon is in September. I am ready!

Today while half asleep and exercising. I felt happy and thankful. I am healthy, my strength is getting better every day and Mr Heron waited for me at the lake.

I might have come in last at the marathon last year, but I did it. I finished. That whats it all about isn’t it?

Please be happy today. Life is about the moments. Not the win.

Love you beyond the lake.

PS: Kim, I have saved your special gifts for today. Thank you so much.

Sunday Dinner and Movie

A couple of months ago,

Larry bought tickets for a Fathom event

at our cinema.

It was to see South Pacific

and so very generous of him,

because I do not think he has ever seen

the movie from beginning to end before.

{Do you think he knew it was a  musical?}

This came on a day that we were homesick for Kaua’i

so it was perfect.

Perfect.

When we came home, we were not hungry….

so we indulged,

nibbling on a Jalapeno Popper Cheese Ball

that I made the day before.

{Has Chef Valentine ever blogged about this amazing recipe?

Do readers want the recipe?}

It was really good….

Just a note: I am in training.

My Dr’s inspiration {she is running the Chicago Marathon in Oct}

and Larry’s coaching,

are getting me ready for a quarter marathon.

Did I really just type that?

We are registered and training.

Six miles is A LOT for me….Ok, I am smiling.

This is going to be very interesting.

I am up to five miles, five times a week.

Look for updates and b-i-itching in the next three weeks.

***

I must post this and go buy a “runners belt” on Amazon.

whatever that is…..

Have a happy, wonderful day.

Love you.
