Happy-Yellow

I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud
by William Wordsworth

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed— and gazed— but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

May your day be happy-yellow as a daffodil.

Love you beyond the garden.

Cute Or Classic?

We had dense fog as Larry left for San Antonio this morning

and

I thought the sun would be gone for days. But it is out!

The sun makes me smile.

Larry works from home when he is in town.

When he is gone, The Cottage is very quiet.

{Maybe I will paint today?}

Yesterday I finished a gift.

I  made a blanket and sweater for a new baby girl

who will arrive this summer.

I did not use a pattern for the blanket

and

the sweater was so much fun to make,

it is the perfect baby sweater.

Today I will block it and sew up seams.

Buttons come next…

I cannot decide between cute buttons or classic buttons.

Either way it will be adorable.

Libby is still asleep,

under the work table.

Larry, I miss you. I love you

and

since you are gone, maybe I will paint today.

The sun is shining in the dining room windows and

I am listening to my Dublin radio station.

Hurry home.

Love you,

Me

Another Kiss

As I sat down at my work table to write today’s post,

Larry walked by, stopped,

kissed  me on the lips and said: I love you.

To be honest, now I am distracted.

*****

We had a lovely weekend.

Friday evening we had dinner at Taverna Rossa with friends.

Larry and I got there early to hold a table

and while waiting, I sipped wine.

I guess that was not a good idea

and by the time everyone arrived, I was ready to dance.

The Bodark String Band had the stage on Friday night.

It was so much fun.

Saturday was relaxed and  Larry & I just enjoyed being together.

On Sunday,

we celebrated Josh’s Birthday at brunch.

It was a great morning and I hope Josh had fun.

He is an awesome man

and we are blessed to have each day with him.

It is a rainy Monday

and time to  start laundry.

Where is Larry?

I think I need another kiss.

Love you.

Truth and Spring Cleaning

As I try to organize, my work area, photographs and ART,

there are things that I come across that make me smile & laugh.

Really laugh.

There is a story behind the above photo…

but I would rather you use your imagination,

as long as it makes you smile too.

Lauren is in both photos.

Beautiful, wise, wonderful Lauren.

Lauren has a heart as big as Texas

and

I thank God for her every day.

Perhaps I am to honest?

Happy Friday dear ones…..

Body Work

Last week, a man drove through a red light and hit my car.

Oh, that terrible sound.

My beautiful, perfect, little car was hit, but not badly.

I got out of the car and stomped my foot,

said a few cuss words, and grimaced,

before the man turned his car around and got out.

The man worked at Best Buy and was taking his lunch break.

He was so nice and so sorry.

This morning, I have to take the car to the body shop.

Then I will go to my Weight Watchers meeting.

Ironic isn’t it?

Today is the Body Work day.

Then I will come home and make a pot of tea and relax.

 {photo above was taken at our spice/tea shop in Paris}

It will be an awesome day.

Love you.

This Guy~ This Girl

In January, 1977, she moved away.

She packed her belongings

and

started a new journey, 824 miles away.

By February, he followed her

with a dozen roses and a question.

She never said yes, but replied with a hug.

{he still teases her about that}

This guy

Proposed to this girl

on Valentine’s Day 1977.

It was then her life started.

Happy Anniversary and Happy Valentine’s Day, Larry.

when you proposed to me,

it was the happiest day of my life.

Afternoon Of Sighs

Yesterday we saw the movie, An Affair to Remember at the theater.

The theater was full and the movie was wonderful. As always.

We came home and had a picnic in the gazebo.

Dinner was one of Larry’s cheese plates

and Champagne.

It was an afternoon of sighs.

{my dessert was a glass of Godiva chocolate liquor.

I tracked the Weight Watcher points, then drank every drop}

The afternoon went by so fast….to fast.

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day.

Out of all the people in my life,

he is the one who has taught me most about love.

Sunday At the Cottage

I am making My Larry’s favorite dessert bars this morning.

Recipe here—> dessert bars

He is outside cleaning up the garden and Gazebo

and

has ripped out all of the jasmine,

because it is a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

Larry and I delivered small Valentines

to Lauren and Jami yesterday.

It was an amazing day.

We did not stay longer than 30 minutes at each home….

The visits were full.

The moments memorable.

So many hugs and smiles.

I am feeling sentimental today.

You know the kind of heart memories…

the ones that bring tears to your eyes.

Love you.

San Antonio, Weight Watchers and Buddha

Yesterday,

My Larry came home from San Antonio.

I must say, I was happy to see him come in the door

and other news,

I was up two pounds at my Weight Watcher meeting yesterday.

To be honest, the past two weeks have been strange

and

I am relieved that I had not gained 5 pounds.

Celeste, the Weight Watcher group leader is awesome.

She is honest and funny.

She can turn a negative into a positive in one second

and

I feel the support I need from the group.

Who needs Oprah when we have Celeste?

Sooo….

even though I am on 3 meds that make me GAIN weight,

{and it is driving me crazy to say the least}

I have my Fit Bit on  and I am focused.

Enablers back off, I am on a mission of health,

not to mention that I have promised myself

a new wardrobe of sundresses for this summer if I succeed.

This is a wonderful post, just before Valentines day, right?

I CAN DO THIS!

******

There are THREE days till Valentine’s Day.

The photo is dark but Buddha is in the Gazebo.
