Red Wellie Boots

Larry and I visited this painting last weekend. The cat was enchanting. We were mesmerized. Isn’t it amazing how a painting can touch us? What touches you?

I learned last night that a dear friend, her husband and two sweet dogs evacuated their home in CA. Fire was very near and they did the very wise thing by packing and leaving. Please dear reader, join me in sending calming thoughts, prayers and love to all California residents, first responders and anyone who might be in harms way.

I dressed this morning in my Halloween costume. Each year I wear my costume all day. Perhaps I am to old to do that but in some crazy way, it inspires me.

Have a good day. Happy Halloween.

Love you beyond my red Wellington boots.

A Red Hat

Breast Cancer fact: This year, an estimated 41,760 women will die from breast cancer in the U.S.

I hated sharing the above fact with you. There is one way to change that number. Have your yearly screenings.

Today is going to be hot…again. My afternoon is super busy but this morning is just for me. {Larry is in Dallas}

Since I finished Lauren’s Christmas gift, {don’t worry about me mentioning her gift. She never reads ze blog} I am starting on my Halloween costume. We have a few events that I wear a costume to and waiting till the last minute drives me mad. Besides. I love how happy people are around Halloween.

Photo: Hat fabric and pattern

Today is “Hat Day” using the pattern shown. The hat I am making is the view on the bottom left. The hat will be red, lined in dots.

It was a coincidence that I chose the dot fabric. It matches the boots I bought weeks ago!

Will you celebrate Halloween this year? {I dislike when people say that they do not celebrate Halloween because it is an evil holiday. Halloween can be anything YOU want it to be. Please don’t use the excuse evil….because, if your heart is true, you can do anything} My plan is to make people smile this year! Last year I had the same plan. BUT I tried on a huge costume head at the market to make Larry laugh. For my reward and trying on that huge head, I got my very first case of pink eye. Go figure. Sixty four years old and getting pink eye for the first time The fun thing is, I can still hear Larry laugh when I tried on the costume head!

My sewing machine has brand new red thread threaded in it and I am off to make a hat! I have never made a hat like this before. Stay tuned!

Please make today, whatever you want it to be.

Love you beyond Pink and tulle,

London Town

I remember Mother always called London,

London Town.

I wonder why?

In London, our flat was a few blocks from Paddington Station.

I LOVE Paddington Station.

Such energy and  colors.

AND, they have the REAL Paddington Bear Shop there.

We went into the store…to buy Matilda a Paddington Bear.

{do you know that the original Paddington Bear is there in a case?

He is absolutely amazing}

In the photo above, the bear on the right

is the bear we bought for Matilda.

I love him so much and If Matilda does not like him…

he can come live here at the  cottage.

Do you know how people put items next to money

so we can judge the scale or size of the item….

We put Matilda’s Paddington next to a wine bottle.

He is a big guy..

{Tomorrow is the last Camp Robi day for 2017.

Paddington will go live with Matilda tomorrow.}

After a short rest,

Larry and I made our way  across town

to the Prince Of Wales Pub,

where we drank pints and watched people.

It was so much fun….and then

we walked  a few blocks to the theater

to see one of my favorite plays.

WICKED.

The people seated around us at the play were so kind,

Not WICKED at all..

It was midnight when we got home.

We snuggled in bed and talked about our day.

Love you beyond the moon.
