Another Day

Nora Jones music is on my play list today

and

I am writing Thank You notes.

If I miss sending you a note, forgive me?

Please know that I am thankful for your friendship, notes, flowers

and love.

Do you know how difficult it is writing these notes

with  Nora Jones singing?

Love you.

Ariel Touched me

On the Saturday before Mothers Day, 2017,

my girls came to The Cottage

and

we waited for Matilda to throw up.

{she had not been well that morning,

so we waited to see if she

was feeling better, for our “day”.}

Matilda and Jami played The Troll Game while resting.

When Lars gave us the ALL CLEAR……

we left for FT Worth for lunch and a play!

We went to a restaurant that had wonderful food

and

a beautiful salt water fish tank.

We had a good time visiting and eating

and

getting ready for the play.

We saw……

The  Little Mermaid.

THE LITTLE MERMAID!

{OK tease me, but I love it so much!}

Here is Matilda with the cast…after this picture was taken,

Matilda whispered: Ariel touched me!

A month ago, I asked Larry is we could find tickets

for this play, for Mothers day.

Oh our awesome tickets!

{ I will share more about our tickets in a later post}

As I edit this post,

I am listening to

The Little Mermaid soundtrack…..

I am happy, content and in awe.

Who knows what tomorrow will bring

but when I have yesterdays like this one….

I am reminded what life is all about.

Love you.

Smiles and Shortbread Cookies

Last evening, I attended a Mothers Day Tea

with Lauren and Matilda.

We had tea at The Springs Event Center~Anna, Texas.

I felt transported.

Such attention to detail.

Matilda and me, in the Grecian Gazebo.

Shortbread cookies…..

It was a lovely evening.

Yesterday I pledged to create and complete  ART every day.

Here is yesterdays project.

It is thoughtful, complete, ugly and in the trash.

I will start #2 this morning.

You know…

life is SO interesting…

It is wonderful to smile and not take yourself to seriously.

{it feels awesome}

Love you beyond {my} ugly ART. {smile}

Something ART Related

It is true.

This is  my official 2017 self portrait.

Check out all of   My FlickR Photos

To much is happening.

My focus changes by the moment.

Many things get worked on

but

nothing gets completed.

There is much ART in me, that is busting to escape.

I have a great idea.

For one week, each day I must finish…

…something ART related.

My desk and easel.

Here are my watercolors….colors like this make me happy.

This is a pincushion perspective

of my work table….

So, the stage is set.

Day one of the

Robin’s Personal ART Challenge

has begun.

What will you start or finish today?

Much love to you.

Valentine’s Egg Sandwiches

Herbs grow crazy on our back patio…

and a rosemary bush stands in the front entry.

What is it about fresh herbs? Wholesome and comforting.

I use them daily and give them a haircut each weekend.

Yesterday, the chives were tall and we needed comfort food.

Larry asked for

Valentine’s Egg Sandwiches.

many of you asked for the recipe….

****

Egg Sandwiches

{makes 4}

ingredients

4 slices of your favorite bread {we use wheat}

8 slices of bacon or turkey bacon

4 lovely slices of tomato {lovely meaning not to thin}

4-8 slices of your favorite cheese (I use what is in the fridge}

4 eggs

kosher salt

4 Tablespoons chopped chives {chopped}

method

Cook bacon till crisp.

Slice tomato.

Heat broiler and toast bread on both sides.

Leave bread on pan while you work,

place 1 slice tomato on each slice.

Place 2 slices of crisp bacon on each slice.

Top the bacon with cheese, either one slice or two.

Now is time to place these under the broiler till cheese bubbles.

Bring them out and let sandwiches  cool while you fry or poach your eggs.

I fried ours.

When egg is finished, place on the top of cheese

and sprinkle with fresh chives.

Serve with lemonade.

Enjoy on the patio.

Can life get any better?

Till next time.

Valentine.

Larry Started Smiling

It is Tuesday alright, but geeze.

Will I ever learn?

 I made a commitment

for Larry and I at attend an event last evening,

in Fairview, Texas.

It was a Dallas FT Worth Pug Rescue event.

*I had read  an article about grieving. It said,

“Keep moving forward, It may hurt sometimes,

but you will work your way past it.”

So we moved forward.

It was a great event, at nice pizza restaurant….

on the patio.

We got to the restaurant, Larry saw all of the pugs

and

the look on his face was pure sadness.

I wanted to cry looking at his face.

OK,

We ordered wine, salads, pizza and I promise

Larry started smiling soon enough.

Because a Great Pyrenees rescued him.

Who else but us, could go to a Pug Rescue event

and be rescued by a Great Pyrenees Dog?

You know,

life is pretty amazing.

Love you.

Me

Honestly

Larry bought me a new hummingbird feeder this weekend

and

I just made fresh hummingbird food.

Making hummingbird food is so amazingly  boring

BORING.

But,

well worth it, when we have visitors.

****

We had a small party yesterday at Traverna Rossa Restaurant.

Many good friends and family shared our day.

Matilda took the group picture.

And

We celebrated Ayah’s birthday!

Lauren, Matilda and Ayah

I look back on the wonderful afternoon,

there were so many smiles and happy moments.

It was wonderful, just what Larry and I needed.

What do you need today?

Just let me know…..honestly….

Love you.

Oh Happy Day

Last night,

I met at a local cafe with

a group of amazing women.

We discussed Anderson Cooper’s book.

We ate lovely French food,

 talked,

and enjoyed being together.

Then I came home.

I got into bed at 9:00….

snuggled in and watched The Amazing Race.

It has been a long week for My Larry and I

but

life goes on in its amazing way.

This morning,

I went into the shif-a-robe and got out my big camera.

Hello old friend. I need inspired. I need practice. I need patience.

{you can tell by the photos}

Flowers from Rosemary and David

It is a beautiful Friday Morning

that will tun into a lovely afternoon.

Oh Happy Day.

Love you.

and

Last night I did not cook dinner. Again.

We went to a restaurant, had steaks

and visited with an old friend.

I drank this….while

These two old friends visited.

Friends, Hotel ART and Home Sweet Home

For the past couple of days,

I was in San Antonio and it was perfection.

It is one of my favorite cities in the world.

Larry had meetings there, so I tagged along.

On Monday night, we met friends for dinner

and had the best visit ever.

Yes, we were at Chuy’s Restaurant in San Antonio.

It was crazy busy and so much fun.

After dinner, Larry had work to catch up on.

I lay in bed

Bitching {excuse my French} about the BAD ART in the hotel.

BAD, BAD, BAD ART.

The hotel was great and everyone was so nice but…gosh…..YUCK.

That print  gots to go.

We stayed at Hilton Garden Inn.

Wonderful place….but beware of the ART.

Larry was captured in the world of Corporate Food Service

so

I read and played on the phone.

It was relaxing and fun.

We woke early and Larry left for two meetings.

I got dressed

and

worked while watching a movie.

After Larry’s meetings, we left beautiful SA and drove back to Dallas.

Home sweet home…..

OK, onward and upward….

as we grieve, we are staying busy and smiling.

Happy Wednesday.

I am glad to be home.

The ART here is awesome.

Love you!
