Little Squirt Guns

It was a beautiful evening for a 4th of July party.

Lauren and Josh had everything ready

and

although Larry and I were on time, we were the first people there.

As the sun went down, a few dozen people showed up

for amazing food,  fireworks and visiting.

About 12  children were  there

and

after dinner I was the “Pool Watcher” while

Josh created a fireworks display that was amazing.

I had the young children sit on the pool steps to watch the show.

It was so much fun.

The moon was peeking through the clouds…

the pool was comfortable,

The fireworks show was perfect.

Larry and I brought three  little squirt guns with us to the party.

We bought them on the way to the party, from the Dollar General.

I would have bought more, but we wiped them out buying three!

I honestly cannot believe how popular they were.

{a few disagreements erupted over them!}

Do you know what is wonderful?

The day after a attending a good party.

Remembering moments that make you smile all day long.

While I am smiling, I wish you a good day.

Love you beyond the smiles.

Me.

So Worth It

Last night, Larry made dessert.

Our healthy  dinner was  chicken, rice and corn

and

then we splurged on brownie sundaes

{it was sooooo worth it!}.

Good job Larry.

This year, I brought sea glass home from Kaua’i.

I swear, I looked at the glass every day

before I decided how I would accomplish  making

the jewelry, I had in mind.

I am pleased to say, that yesterday I started this sea glass necklace.

It is well on  its way

but

it is just a work in progress.

I will fine tune the technique as I go.

This necklace is Lauren’s

Please don’t tell her. It is a secret.

Happy 4Th Of July.

May this anniversary of our independence remind us all

how blessed we are to live in America.

God Bless America.

Love you.

Libby’s Lei

Larry and I have a tradition that upon losing a family member,

we have a ceremony for them while at the beach.

At a special spot near the cottage, we dedicate a lei to our loved one and then to the ocean.

The Lords Prayer and  the hymn Simple Gifts are recited

and

the lei is shared with the ocean.

In June, we dedicated a lei to Libby Pug Dog.

I am glad that I am posting this story here because I still cry .

After Larry shared the lei….tossing it far to the ocean….it kept coming back to us,

It would lie lazily on the rocks….for about 15 minutes.

Larry Looked at me and frowned. I cried.

At one point, the lei formed a figure 8.

Libby used to run very fast and run in figure 8s.

We smiled.

This went on for awhile. We watched the lei stay close to us

and then in an instant……

Libby’s lei was gone.

We did not see it surface at all again.

It was amazing and sad.

I am still missing my girl…..

but Larry says the grief is getting better every day.

Lets hope so.

Love you.

Lazy Saturday

Yesterday Larry and I were  hungry for ……

a plain old home cooked meal.

So…..here you see it. {I had fun cooking yesterday}

Dessert was a brownie sundae.

To be quite honest, we were gone all morning, came home

and then…we watched 3 movies.

THREE.

The Sons Of Katie Elder

Tombstone

Dan In Real life.

I was working on a project….

we ate dinner during Tombstone

and

cuddled during Dan In Real Life.

What a lazy weekend.

Be safe and happy,

Love you.

This, Our Wonderful Country

I woke up this morning to Good Morning America on  the TV.

There was a lot of rude discussion and innuendo.

You might notice that I do not usually share my political views online.

{why would I? Would you change your mind to agree with me?  I think not}

After listening  to George Stephanopoulos for 15 min. I sighed.

It must have been a loud sigh

Because Larry said:

Well, that is  12 minutes we will never get back.

All of this political fighting has been going on for decades.

I have been watching a documentary series called The Roosevelt’s on Netflix.

It is well done and enlightening.  Two thumbs up.

There are hungry people in our communities.

People who need donor organs or blood.

There are so many things to put our energy toward.

This, is our wonderful country and there is no other place like it.

Lets  just remember what is important

God Bless America

Love you.

A Hot Texas Day

It is Wednesday already.

I stood at the back door looking out

feeling very optimistic about today.

Yesterday, I worked on a birthday gift,

went to the movies

and

had breakfast for dinner, at Denny’s.

But today.

OH! Today!

A brand new, hot Texas day…..

can be anything I want it to be

and

I have a dozen ideas.

Love you.

Just Following My Heart

Each morning,

I read two other blogs before I post this blog.

{even when I am on holiday}

One of them is wholesome, faithful and sweet.

The other is edgy, sometimes sad and the person uses the “F” word, often.

Sunrise at Poip’u, HI June 2017

They are both extreme opposites of who I am,

but  they are my favorites.

They give me a perspective that is different than mine

and

remind me that as we make our way through this life

different is good.

Different.

Never let anyone tell you that your

thoughts, actions or opinions are wrong.

How on earth would they know?

They are not you.

Your perspective is YOUR reality.

{I resent when someone suggests that my reality is wrong}

It sounds like I have been having a bad day,

but it is just the opposite.

I am happy…extremely happy today.

Just following my heart…

Love you.

What is Happening To The Blog?

Larry is outside mowing the lawn.

I hear the hummmm of the mower

and

I automatically come to the computer to play with  the blog.

I just cannot get it exactly like I wish it to be.

So, I chose a photo that I took in London years ago.

I love London…..

and I love it on my website, for awhile at least.

Here is the original shot.

Love you.

Friday Camp Day

I got out of bed with a bang today, because it is

CAMP ROBI DAY!

We have not had Camp Robi for a few weeks

because Larry and I were in Poip’u.

 Friday’s, while on the island,

I wore my Camp Robi shirt.

{can you even SEE that I have it on?}

But today I am home.

Matilda will be here in an hour for Camp…..

…To Be Continued.

Love you.
