Thursday In Atlanta

Larry has a meeting in Atlanta this morning.

We flew in yesterday, had dinner with

some of our favorite people last night

and

will fly home today.

Isn’t life wonderful?

FYI

Atlanta is one of two cities in the world to be home to two Nobel Peace Prize winners:

Martin Luther King Jr. & President Jimmy Carter.

Love you.

Me

Lily Of The Valley

Last week, I was feeling down  and missing Libby Dog.

Larry said: Do something that

will make you feel better and remember her.

I went to one of my favorite “shopping” places….

Piggy and Dirt

Where I picked out a special STAR.

It is one of their new designs,

now, we have one for “remembrance”.

Kurt and Becky package the stars in such a wonderful way

and

the STARS are totally amazing.

The new star has lily of the valley on it….I love it.

All of our stars hang at the dining room window

making us smile daily.

What do you do to cheer up?

I wish you smiles, stars and remembrance.

Love you.

Days Of September

Yesterday was odd.

I worked on Christmas gifts,

Prayed for the victims of 9/11,

Reminisced about adopting Libby Pug Dog

the week after the Twin Tower disaster.

{16 years ago}

{Libby’s AKC name is

Elizabeth’s Stormy Liberty}

I am tired of odd days….

I am looking forward to

halloween decorations,

the Texas State fair,

dinner at the fire pit

and

you know….

that happy feeling that comes in Autumn.

I shall be patient.

***

I forgot to post about Sunday dinner.

We had it on Saturday last weekend,

because Grandparents Day was on Sunday.

I made a chicken pot pie.

Awesome baking dish from Aggie!

It was delicious.

***

Off I go, in to Tuesday morning.

It is absolutely beautiful outside this morning.

I am inspired  and humbled.

Lionel Richie is singing – YOU ARE

Looks like it is going to be a great day.

Enjoy.

Love you.

So Glad

Yesterday was book club.

The group met at a local tea room.

We discussed life, this past summer

and the book, Radio Girls.

My lunch was glorious.

After lunch, I went to Farmersville, TX.

In Farmersville, there is am amazing yarn shop.

The Fiber Circle.

I am making a Christmas gift…and needed supplies.

It has been an interesting week.

I am so glad that it is Friday.

Have a lovely weekend.

Love you.

Harvest Moon and Various Joyful Moments

Larry and I do not watch much network TV

but we have found a few series

in

Amazon Prime and Netflix that we like.

One of my favorites is

GRANTCHESTER

We watch it on AMAZON Prime

But it is PBS, so it is in other places too.

There is something calming and charming about

this show…

*****

Yesterday was a wonderful day.

It was beautiful outside,

I worked on Christmas gifts

and last night was

the full, harvest moon.

Thank you Neil Young

for one of my favorite songs….

I found this video…

and when Larry watched it, he used the word, mesmerized.

Enjoy….

Have a happy, wonderful day.

Love you!

Remembering Roberta

Last week, Larry and I said goodbye to an old friend.

Roberta was a wonderful part our lives for over 30 years.

We met Roberta at church when we joined the

First Presbyterian Church of Plano.

I taught Sunday School and Larry was an elder.

Roberta was part of these committees

and welcomed us with a huge heart.

She loved her children, Arts and Crafts and trashy novels.

I loved how strong she was…

and once her mind was made up about something

that was the end of discussion.

I will remember teaching Presbyterian Women how to

quilt and knit….

{I taught these classes for the city of Plano

and Roberta though it would be great

if I taught them to the women of our church}

She never finished her knit or quilt projects.

The visiting,  sharing an example of faith and fellowship

were her favorite part of the classes.

She was a member of Friends Book Club.

{she was the one who invited me to join}

We will be meeting Tomorrow

and

Roberta will be in our thoughts and prayers…

and she will be missed.

Rest well dear friend.

Love you.

Quiet Tuesday

Larry is off to emergency meetings.

A new hurricane is brewing  {Irma}

and

he has many clients/restaurants in FLA.

who are bracing for a new storm.

It is super quiet in The Cottage right now.

My work area is mess.

It does not inspire me at all

but today I will sew.

Just sew and sketch.

here is the funky dress I am making.

I am making it out of an easy dot fabric,

and I figure that I am either

going to love this dress or hate it.

{I will let you know tomorrow.}

I have so much to do today…..

best get busy.

Be happy….

Love you.

Me

Sunday, Dinner and Movie

Can you hear me sigh?

Sunday, Dinner and Movie was spectacular.

We had stuffed eggplant, zucchini and a cheese plate.

Blindfold, white wine

and our movie was

My Old Lady.

I must admit, we started laughing

in the middle of the movie and could not stop.

{we kind of missed the end of the movie…}

Did you  know that My Larry

Peels off wine labels for his wine journal?

I LOVE his wine journals…

they are ART and moments wrapped all together.

Was your weekend spicy?

Happy Labor Day.

Love you.

So Much To Say

I have an awesome post in my head.

I hope you read it. I want you to read it.

It has the perfect amount of sarcasm and rude comments.

I have so much to say! Yes, I am smiling and laughing.

You  stopped listening to my voice 20 years ago,

But the wonderful thing is, lots of other people still hear me.

Robin’s Essay

After I did not fit into my “step mothers” idea of  family,

{i looked to much like my mother?}

you all found any reason to move me out of the family.

Granted, it was Norman’s {my bio father} idea,

but you went along with it.

This is important….you went along with it,

dragging cousins and friends along with you.

They thought I did something really awful. I didn’t. You know that too.

Remember when our cousin ripped off Normans charge card

and payed for an entire semester of college with it?

Do you know it was Larry and I who talked to Norman

and made the situation ok ?

But no one did that for me.

This past month, cousins that disowned me 20 years ago,

came out of the wood work. Not to reconcile,

but for information they needed to contact “other” cousins.

How rude and disrespectful is that?

It says more about them than it says about me.

But the funny thing is

I am not hurt, I just want you to know…

That I am so much better without your dramas….

To those who follow Robin Toujours,

I apologize.

Sometimes you just have to call ignorance

when ignorance is spotted.

Me

Bright and Cool

It is 8:30 am and I am sitting at my work table

trying to plan tomorrow’s dinner and movie.

I know….messy……

BUT.

I can feel the change in weather.

Autumn is upon us

and

although I have things to do, places to be, people to see…

I am missing my Pug Girl today.

Goodness she loved this time of year.

The mornings bright and cool,

the nights cuddling on the big bed.

I know that life goes on,

but merde, it is difficult sometimes.

{but how blessed am I to have had such a wonderful life?}

Dear ones,

Have a happy Saturday.

Enjoy your moments and smile when you remember

special moments from the past.

Love you more than candy.
