Easier Said Than Done

Larry has been gone for a few days

and

Libby is missing him like crazy.

This is very unlike her….and she is honestly mad.

Poor Libby.

My Larry comes home today and Libby will be happy.

Being home alone this week has given me time to think.

And pray.

There has been something that is weighing heavy on my heart

and

all I can do is try to try to forgive and move on.

When someone has hurt you terribly and holds no responsibility for it,

it is time to find peace in your heart.

Isn’t that easier said than done?

{okay, smile. I am not an angel}

I wish you peace today….

Love you.

Crack Kills

It is a glorious morning in Texas!

The sun rose with a gentleness I cannot describe.

It is another wonderful day to be alive.

I have not been very good about taking daily photos lately.

But…..I would like to share something interesting.

In 2011, Larry and I were in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

We had a lovely time and my sense of humor seemed strange.

That is my excuse to taking a off color photo.

Example:

Titled: Crack Kills.

This photo has been on FLICKR- Robin’s Photos

for many years. (6 years)

It is just recently, that random viewers are

viewing it and “liking” it. 12,655 people to be exact.

What?

Isn’t that crazy?

One of the photos I am not proud of at all

is getting attention?

Perhaps this will inspire me into taking daily photos again?

What inspires YOU?

Love you.

It Is, After All

Happy First day of Spring.

This time of year always amazes me.

The miracle of re-birth

and

the first green colors of spring are my favorite.

Last week, Matilda was on spring break

and

she spent one day with me

It was wonderful.

She played with her fairy garden….

Larry had ordered her 9 Maude Humphrey Bogart statues

and she loved them.

She said: The girls are around the camp fire.

Yesterday,

Larry bought me new silverware.

How perfectly awesome is it that he picked out the pattern

and bought the set for us.

{our old silverware was ready for the trash

the prongs of the forks were crooked and the knives bent}

When he showed me the new {Lenox} set, he was so sweet.

I love Larry so much.

As you can tell,

Since I have been ill, I have been struggling a it.

But, it cannot last forever can it?

Slowing down in any capacity  affects us mentally.

So, today I have my fit-bit on

and

will smile more often.

It is, after all, the first day of spring!

Love you,

Room Service

I wish that I felt better.

Don’t mean to whine but…..merde.

When I was in the hospital last week,

room service brought me fruit.

It is the best meal I have had in weeks.

Answer me this:

Is that because of the visual application

or

because I was feeling better?

Of course I took a photo,

even in the hospital.

Love you.

Happy and Safe

Happy St Patrick’s Day!

Be happy and safe,

but most of all, have fun.

******

Winter is hanging on by a thread today.

Gloom has settled  over the cottage

and

Libby is  looking at me as if to say: Change it Mom!

Larry is in Austin for meetings all day

but

I suspect he and his associates will be

attending SXSW for lunch.

{it does sound like fun, doesn’t it?}

He will be home by dinner time.

I am home alone all day.

What shall I do?

Love you.

It Is That Early

I am up early and feel wonderful.

Birds are not even singing, it is that early.

Today is a busy day for sure.

I must return to the hospital for tests.

But…..

I have been keeping my hands busy at home.

I have had no desire to paint yet,

but I have been working.

There is a little girl in our life who will be joined

by a new sister this summer.

I am taking advantage of this time

to get things made for the arrival.

Baby Sister sweater and blanket ~ done.

Baby Sister bath blanket made of luscious chenille~ Half done

***

This is  the Aran sweater for Big Sister.

I started the front yesterday.

All of the different stitches are my favorite thing to knit.

What is it they say about busy hands?

Thank you for all of the messages and calls.

Emails and texts.

Life is very good.

Love you.

Tuesdays and Documentaries

It is a quiet day.

Larry is in San Antonio at meetings.

Do you know that I watch documentaries?

Lots of documentaries.

Love them…

Today, while I recover from surgery,

I watched a doc titled

Finding Vivian Maier.

{Netflix}

Vivian Maier

It is very interesting and honest.

Vivan Maier was a street photographer

and

I cannot get enough of her ART.

If you are a photographer or ARTist…you might like to see this.

This is one of my favorite documentaries so far.

Do you hide your talents?

Why?

Love you.

Trying To Stay Calm

I hope when you read this…I will be home.

Today is round two of mohs surgery.

Last weeks surgery and today’s was scheduled at same time

with no thought of my liver failure last week.

It is 5:30 am that feels like 4:30 am

Darn daylight saving time

I am very tired and feel sick.

I don’t wanna go.

Love you.

Titles and Soundtracks

Last week, while DR M was stitching me up after surgery on my scalp., we had a discussion about books.

I said: When I admire someone, I love to get book titles from them.

Then the funniest thing happened. He  started telling me what medical journals he was reading.

It made me smile because I do admire him and his sense of humor.

He then asked me what I was reading.

I said: Cider House Rules.

He said: Michael Caine!

I said: Better yet! Rachael Portman wrote the music!

Dr M said: ahhhhhh

I love Cider House. I love John Irving and Michael Caine. Rachael Portman is one of my favorite composers.

Last night after dinner was consumed, meds taken, My Larry and I settled in bed and we watched The Cider House Rules. My head was on his chest and his arms were tight around me as we watched Dr Larch and Homer Wells.

It was the marked end of a crappy week.

I am so very grateful for the love and care around me.

Thank you Jamison for cuddling in bed and watching Moana with me.

Thank you Lars, Josh & Matilda for coming for a short visit and for the french pastries.

Thank you Debbie and Lew. You made dinner for us. It is so appreciated and it is the first complete meal I have eaten all week.

{not to mention it was delicious!}

Have a good day dear ones.

Love you.
