Stinky

It has been a stinky day.

I had to postpone our dinner party

because Larry has to go out of town….

and

II think I caught  the flu bug Larry had over the weekend.

I am in bed, reading

Stinky days  like this

should be banned so close to Christmas.

Love you,

Me

This is the first book….Queenie is the second. XOX

PS: I am loving this book…

but be sure to read them in order

Chocolate For Your Soul

In Paris, this year,

our picnic day was dreary and drizzly.

But, the Champagne was perfection

and

our lunch extraordinary.

But, I LOVE the Champagne bottle.

photo: The PERFECT Champagne bottle

Did I say LOVE?

The winery, said the bottle is the same

as they used  100 years ago.

How awesome is THAT?

I asked my  Larry if I could borrow the bottle

for the holidays.

Then he will remove the label for his wine book

after the new year.

Look for a photo of the bottle

as I plan to use it at one of our parties.

***

This holiday, I seem

to be having a problem with expectations.

Not mine, but other peoples.

It is the time of year when people

expect so much, while forgetting

how awful they were to you just months ago.

One of the things cancer taught me  was,

never waste your time on people

who do not care enough about you

to be kind.

Being kind is  easy and it feels so good….

It is like chocolate for your soul.

Today I will find a candle for the awesome champagne bottle,

and do something kind for someone….

{and I know who!}

Please enjoy your day.

Love you BEYOND the moon

The Weekend Before Christmas

Larry and I had a lovely weekend.

It was filled with all things good.

We saw THE GRINCH again! {my favorite}

{the Broadway Play}

The most awesome GRINCH in the world

We have seen  The Grinch many times,

but this one was THE BEST!

{Or do I say that every time?}

Then we went to Pedro’s after the play.

A very good friend, Pedro has the BEST restaurant in Dallas.

It seems like,

every  special event in my life,

I celebrate at Pedros….It is my tradition.

After my favorite lunch,

we strolled down to  Elm Street Tattoo

Where  Nick tweaked my pink ribbon Tattoo.

My small soft ribbon is now

a strong comment on breast cancer and family.

It is on my wrist , crusty and sore

but  i LOVE it.

I will post pics after it is healed.

***

Christmas is one week away.

I am not sure how often I will be posting

but…….

You can always

leave a comment for me.

{A comment on this blog, not on Face Book.}

{smilie face}

Have a happy, wonderful day.

Please fill you day with all things inspirational and kind.

Love you!

Dear Rosemary and David

PHOTO: Hugo the bonsai

Dear Rosemary and David NTG,

One year ago, you had a  Christmas”Fig  Bonsai” tree

sent to Larry and me.

{We love it so much!}

I immediately named him HUGO.

He was watered, fed and welcomed  to The Cottage.

In the past year,

he has doubled in size and puts out new growth often.

After this new year,

he will be transplanted into a new bonsai pot.

Thank you again for this lovely gift.

Hugo has been a constant reminder of  you, our wonderful friends,

Rosemary and David.

May this holiday season bring you

love and joy.

Love you.

Holiday Book Read

Last year I read a wonderful book…

filled with hope and strength.

And well written.

In fact, I loved it.

Last night while I worried

over what book to read over the holiday,

I found

This is the second book

after Harold Fry.

It is downloaded on my Kindle

and

I have read a few chapters.

Last book dilemma of 2017 is settled.

If you are having a dilemma,

I recommend the above books.

Good luck!

Love you beyond the moon.

Grab A Mug Of Tea

Christmas is a breath away.

Where did the time go?

I am not ready at all. Are you?

I have three more gifts to complete

and

I feel the stress building up.

How are YOU?

Have you found Christmas?

Is your heart full of love and Christmas miracles?

I hope so.

Today, is a busy day.

I will finish Matilda’s sweater.

After her sweater, I will make her a fur vest.

Photo: Runway pattern for vest

The vest pattern is on the left above.

The fur does not photograph well, but it  feels wonderful.

I can see her wearing it with a top, jeans and her boots.

So as I try to curb my stress and get projects done….

I will grab a mug of tea and thread my sewing machine.

Let this Wednesday begin!

Love you beyond the moon.

De Rêver~To Dream

Photo: taken after a long lunch in the Tuileries. Paris, France November 2017

I have been day-dreaming.

A lot.

Moments from long ago,

being with Larry in Paris a few weeks ago.

Baby Matilda and Libby pug dog.

It must be my Christmas time habit now.

The day-dreaming makes me smile

and

reminds me of special moments

that I want to keep in my heart…..

What is your Christmas time habit?

Can you hear me sigh?

Love you beyond the moon.

Getting My Family Fix

It was a great weekend.

Larry and I asked our daughters

to join us for a Saturday FEAST!

{Larry and I were in France during Thanksgiving}

A 22 Pounder!

Jamison had to work, but stopped by

on her way home for a little visit,

But, Lars, Josh, Matilda and puppy Ellie joined us.

Let The FEAST Begin

I roasted a huge turkey,

used holiday table settings

and

smiled as the day was filled

with my wonderful family.

I cooked the dinner, Larry  carved the turkey

and

my kids were in charge of the entertainment.

It was  perfect.

****

Sunday night  was dinner and a movie,

we ate left overs and watched

the holiday movie Prancer.

PRANCER is my favorite.

FAVORITE.

And it always makes me cry.

So, it is now, Monday Morning.

Larry is away  all day today.

I am alone to work on holiday gifts, laundry

and practice my Yoga.

Will you  try to {yoga} breathe today?

Smile when you can and please remember

that this is the Holiday of LOVE and JOY.

No Grumpies allowed.

Love you very much.

Me.

In My Heart

I stepped outside.

The dirt devils had turned into leaf devils.

and

the patio begged for company,

In the distance I heard Christmas music playing.

This time of year can be so difficult for many people.

Please know, that you are in my heart.

I pray for peace that only you will know

and

love that will fill the little empty spaces of your heart.

*****

I have been working on a gift for Matilda.

A sweater.

Matilda’s Christmas Sweater

I took a pattern from an old knitting book of my Mothers

and

designed a fair isle pattern for the bottom.

It will soon be finished….then I have other things to make.

As I work,

I love imaging who will get the gift…

the Holidays are a special time….

Love you.
