World’s Best Friend Day

Happy Best Friend’s Day

My Mother loved the poet Edgar Guest. She talked about his poetry and how famous he was during her lifetime… and in honor of World’s Best Friend Day. I found a sweet poem by Mr Guest.

Larry is my best friend and I have a small handful of friends. This handful of friends is the most incredible group of women. The poem below describes them perfectly.

When I think about what my friends mean to me and how they have been there through the good times and the bad, I get sentimental. There is honestly NOTHING like a friend is there?

Love you beyond the moon.

My best friend since 1st grade lives just south of me about 30 miles. She is the sister I got to choose for myself. When we were in Girl Scouts we had to write a “poem” about friendship and recite it to the whole group at a camping trip. We wrote this & giggle the whole time we recited it:

A friend is someone who really cares,
Someone who loves & one who shares.
She helps me do my work each day,
and we will stay friends we hope & pray.

    And our prayers worked!!!
