Birthday Wishes

On Tuesday night, Jimmy Kimmel had Charlize Theron on his show. She had hired Michael Bolton to sing Happy Birthday to a friend at the celebration party. Jimmy asked her, who would SHE like to sing at her birthday and she said Patsy Cline. I loved her choice.

It made me think…who would I like to sing to me on my birthday? Without a doubt I would like Peter Nero to play happy birthday to me on the piano. I have been aware of Peter Nero since I was a child. Mother had a few of his LP’s and his music fascinated me. I still adore his music. He is my favorite Jazz Man. The Best Of Peter Nero1965 is below. Please enjoy. There is about 40 min of music, the entire session is amazing……. *excuse the space below to the music..

Peter Nero is about 80 years old now…and has continued performing and is a talent whom I admire…

Who would YOU like to sing (or play) Happy birthday to you?

Love you beyond the moon.

Sunday Dinner and A Movie

The windows are open this morning and Moon River ( Peter Nero’s version) is playing on my little MP3 player. You cannot know how awesome it is hearing Moon River, with the birds outside, chirping in the background.

Today, I am two weeks post surgery and Larry continues to take care of me in the best way possible. This past Sunday, he cooked dinner for us. He roasted a chicken, roasted veggies and we had Blindfold white wine with dinner and had petit fours for dessert. ( I am a secret petit four addict and we keep them in the freezer year round) Our movie was the classic GIGI. ( Larry says that the movie GIGI is like a Monet painting, come to life)

Photo: Larry even included a cheese plate with dinner
Photo: Roasted veggies, were wonderful
Photo: One of my favorite white wines~ Blindfold
Photo: Maurice Chevalier in GIGI. When I was a little girl, I had a crush on Maurice Chevalier. He was unlike any man I ever knew.

Larry’s dinner was wonderful and he even set the table…..

Have the best day that you can imagine.

Love you beyond the moon,

Maybe Write a Letter?

Yesterday, I made Valentine cards. What is it about home-made Valentine cards that make me feel warm inside? I love to receive them and love to make them.

This next weekend, I will take supplies to the country for ART in the Garden Day with granddaughter Matilda. We will make Valentine cards to send out to friends and family. I made the prototypes yesterday and cannot wait to see how Matilda interprets the design. I promise to share pictures next week.

Last evening, Larry took me out to dinner. We sat in a closed off booth and ate Tex Mex. It was very nice and felt like we had a private dining area. The restaurant was rather empty and that was good too. I felt safe and comfortable.

It is early and I am dressed to walk. Music is playing out of the little speaker on my work table and I have to be honest. With so much going on in the country, I feel like I must stay busy with exercise and creating to keep focused on positive things. Maybe by writing a letter? (See below)

Last week, our Capitol building was left in ruins. Absolute ruins. Do you know that there is a staff that keeps the building in order and clean? The Superintendent is Mark Reed. He has an amazing staff and if you would like to write to them and thank them for everything that they do, the address is:

Mr. Mark Reed

US Capitol

First Street SE

Room HD42

Washington, DC 20004

I love to write letters, so I will be writing this week. Just to say thank you.

Have a good day. Please wear your mask…and stay safe.

Love you beyond the moon.
