Happy May Day! I remember one May Day when I was a little girl. We lived in Pennsylvania and it snowed! Mother was so excited about it and even now, I do not know why she was so excited.
The wonderful thing about it is…every May Day I remember Mother. Pulling the curtains back at the small bungalow we lived in and exclaiming,”LOOK! Snow! On May Day!”
I was not very well yesterday. Just radiation fatigue and somehow I hurt the top of my foot. After I walked almost 3 miles! I came home and hung out. I read, ate stale Easter candy and made ramen bowls for dinner. Larry was happy.
I play Terraria almost daily with My Girl Matilda. I have never played video games before and she is a wonderful teacher. I am enjoying this time with her. She is at her home about one hour from us and we enable voice chat and talk the entire time. {and laugh a lot too}

I bought this book when we started playing. Even then I did not understand much. Now I am understanding it more and more. Let me know if you would like to give it a try. You can play with my character! …..I think that it was $10.00 at STEAM.COM
And NO….I do not spend my days playing video games. I finished a project and now I must sew buttons on it. Probably my least favorite part of the project.

My days are consumed with staying busy in a positive way. I delete any negativity because the stress is not good for cancer recovery. The people who care about us keep in touch and we check on them. Friendships stay the course… I love knowing that.
On Saturday, when Matilda left us flowers, she also left us this….
Photo: A special gift from Matilda
She made this diorama and put it with the wildflowers. Children have a unique way of looking at life. I love it so much. It reminds me that EVERYTHING is possible.

Let the adults yap all they want. I’m listening to the kids.
Matilda picked wildflowers on Saturday and gave them to us. Wildflowers in a Mason jar. What could be better than that?
Sunday was my 5 month remission mark. It means that I cannot sit in my big leather chair reading all day. Larry and I have walked 3 miles, three days in a row. I hope to be back to 4 miles 5 times a week. It is so difficult to do right now.
Yesterday I cooked dinner, we watched the movie No Reservations and drank a lovely Saint-Emilion.
Sunday menu was, hot artichoke dip and chips- beef tenderloin and grilled potatoes, brussel sprouts and carrots. We shared our meal with our quarantined neighbors. They had the same dinner as we did, but for dessert I made them a chocolate mousse. Our dessert consisted of…..Krispy Kream donuts. Larry gave up donuts for Lent and asked that we have them for the first time since Fat Tuesday….Photos below.

Photo: Beautiful Libby
Libby left us three years ago April 27th, 2017. I still miss her every day. People ask us if we will adopt a new dog soon. I respond: No. Libby is waiting for me and when I see her again, I can tell her that I waited for her too.
It is a beautiful Saturday. I walked laps around the lake, the day feels OK and I am starting to get stronger every day. I have my mask ready and in a moment, we are going to Kroger to get the things for Sunday dinner. I think I look awesome in a mask…how do you look?
Hey! Its another Saturday…..
Larry and I wish you health, special moments and joy. Be kind today….
Video: Sweet Rufus Thomas {was a huge name in Memphis when I lived there.}
Yesterday, Larry and I went to Jami’s house. She is working from home right now, and we went to walk the dogs. Heaven knows that we all needed out of the house. {while Jamison stayed in and worked}
It was a beautiful day. We tried to pretend that everything was normal in our world with no Covid-19 and everyone was fine……
Photo: Gunner and Cooper at the dog park
……..But no matter how hard we tried, there were reminders all around us. The poor dogs were so disappointed that the dog park was closed. It was so sad, but it made me giggle at the same time. The dogs KNEW!
Larry and I binged watched WACO last night. I try to work on projects but get distracted easily and seem to waste a lot of time waiting for all this to be over.
My work table is a mess. I have almost no life to speak of. I am gaining weight eating junk food. {please don’t tell my endocrinologist} My keyboard is relatively new and I am wondering where all of the crap in between the keys came from? Maybe it is from eating junk food at my desk?
Back to blog business……
I took the photo below last week. Matilda had invited us over to her neighborhood to take a walk.

Lauren and Matilda…walked on the opposite side of the street than Larry and I did. It was awkward and a little sad.{ I want to hug Matilda so badly} But…awkward is better than nothing, right?

Photo: Morning sun at The Cottage
The sun is shining today. The current puzzle is slowly showing progress and Larry is back in his office working.
Larry has not had a vacation in over one year and he is still positive and loves working. He is a food-service Iron-man. He is my muse, hero and love. I am at my desk…sorting out my day. I wonder what this day will bring?
Photo: Pug mask in the work room.
I read a quote yesterday, about pugs. “Pugs make good things better and the bad things not so bad……”
Larry looked at me this morning and said, good morning, whatever day it is. It is Wednesday Larry! Wednesday….and then he said: Will you cut my hair before I take my shower?
I have been promising to cut his hair for days but something always came up. I said: Of course. Again.
Photo: The tools
I put my tools by the patio door. This is all I use. It is wonderful cutting Larry’s hair.

I use any excuse to be close to this wonderful person. He is wonderful to everyone, not just me. Do you know that Larry and I have matching Honu tattoos? Story here—>
A storm was coming as I cut inches off of his pony tail. The buzzer was dying as I trimmed his mustache {how did I forget to juice that thing up?} and my phone was ringing. Larry was still content sitting there looking out into the garden till I finished. I love being with that man.
This all happened almost 2 hours ago and unless I find some inspiration somewhere, that will be the highlight of my day. Reading hour is at eleven AM, and I love having an appointment to read daily. I am forced to stop and escape into a story of far away.
I am totally interested in setting up a “Happy Hour” once a week via ZOOM. I’m just figuring ZOOM out, but if anyone would like to try to figure it out with me and meet for a visit with a glass of wine, Please leave your suggestions in the comment section below.
Every evening, I think about how my day went, taking note so I can share it on blog. Last evening, I thought… I did not go anywhere or do anything. What a bore. But maybe I did do a few things?
I promised myself that I would read every day for one hour, I did that. {New book club book is The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek} I did our weekly laundry and texted a friend or two.
Photo: My Book of Dinner
I recorded Sunday Dinner and movie information in this wonderful book that my cousin sent to me, then I posted my daily journal entry on Blog and the highlight of my yesterday was face-timing with Matilda.
I heard earlier in the day, yesterday, that Matilda had made a fort out of the kitchen table in their house far from us! Matilda always has the best ideas! Then, yesterday afternoon, she called me, for a video chat and to give me a tour of her fort.

After the amazing tour, she read me TWO! Books! Pig the Star and Pig the Stinker.

Pig is a pug-dog and I loved her reading and sharing the pictures with me. It makes me cry this morning, thinking about what a wonderful thing to do for her Grandmother. I loved it.
Son in law, Josh gave us new security cameras. I am going to figure them out today. {thoughtful gift for these days}

How are you? Are you tired of people sharing their c-virus opinions with you yet? Don’t you simply love people sharing ideas about something that has such a vague history? I am patiently waiting for the medical information to come in….but till then, you can find me huddled up in The Cottage. My prayers are for our sick population, DRs and nurses and for patience. I hope that this gets figured out soon. What do YOU think?
