Yesterday, was International Hot Chocolate day. I enjoyed a huge mug and though of the wonderful places that I have had hot chocolate. The one place that I remember vividly, was during the holidays 1995. My Mother had just passed away and I was struggling badly.
Larry and I were active with the Wednesday’s Child Foster Organization at that time. We hosted a dinner and evening at Six Flags Over Texas for all of the children. After our responsibilities were finished, Larry and I had a chance to go into the amusement park where they were performing the “Christmas Story” and it was amazing…Larry bought me hot chocolate. It had whipped cream and sprinkles. I sat there crying, while watching the play and drinking my hot chocolate.
I love hot chocolate stories. Where is the most memorable place you have had hot chocolate?
Last evening, the storm front started moving into North Texas. The clouds were so dimensional that they looked touchable. Bad weather is on its way to Texas. I would be lying if I said that I was not frightened. Last years storm had left a bad memory in my heart. Freezing for days on end is the most miserable thing. I will never forget it.
If you are in the way of a storm, ANY storm, please be safe….
Love you. Me
Hot chocolate story: my Gram made my sister & I green felt skating skirts & vests with appliqued snowflakes on them. My aunt had just gotten her first new car (a Corvair) and she took Jackie and I ice skating at a park so we could wear our new outfits (a freeze, I might add). Afterwards they were selling hot chocolate at the park so we sat in her new car drinking it to warm up. My sister spilled the entire cup onto the car seats. My aunt actually went and bought her another, which also spilled. My aunt was just the best, I love her so much and every time I have hot chocolate I remember her.
