Camp Robi-Day Two

Day two of camp found us at the Heard Natural Science Museum. We hiked, gathered leaves to identify , social distanced and had a good time together.

Each day, we had a detailed schedule. It also had options to fill in for projects and games.

Tuesday’s Word Of The Day was….CIRCUMFERENCE.

Trivial Pursuit Family version was a hit this year. We played it daily.

Dinner was served at 5:00 and then it was time for bath and reading.

Matilda is an excellent guest. When camp is over, I do feel blue.

Love you beyond the moon.

Camp Robi~ Day One

Last Monday was the first day of Camp Robi. We picked up Matilda at 9 AM and brought her to the cottage. She unpacked and was sweet and happy.

We were all excited. Even Larry had taken a vacation week for camp!

Each year we do a camp puzzle and we also do the Word Of The Day……

As we all were happy and excited to be together, we stuck to the schedule that I made and even had time to, go fishing!

It was a long, fun day. We ordered Golden Chick for dinner and settled in for the night.

It was a perfect first day at camp.

Love you beyond the moon.

Only For Me

Yesterday was wonderful. Larry and I caught up on all of the chores and then we had dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant in Dallas. We are required to wear masks in Dallas but not in Plano. We wore our masks to dinner last night. It was still awesome.

I am hoping that followers soon find Blog. Weeks ago, I would post the link to blog on Facebook daily. Since Facebook is closed up, not many people hit the site. When I shared the link it was very convenient. Larry laughs at me, reminding me that I write this journal only for me…and no one else. It is true.

Have a lovely day. Please be kind and share the love.

Love you beyond the moon.

Today’s Potato Salad

Hi.

Camp Robi is over for this year. It was perfect in every way, except for the ending, which means that Matilda has returned home and the cottage is empty.

This has been a terrible year for me. I find myself just focusing on the positive and moving forward the best that I can. I also dislike that the world is changing and I am 66 years old. I want to see how this all turns out, but it will be many, many years before the world settles down with its brand new version if itself.

I am angry at myself for a few things this year. (remember that it is my “new year”) I have spent so much time making things (ART, Quilts, Sweaters) for people, who do not even say thank you or seem grateful. (the projects were gifts, not paid commissions) Quarantine has changed friendships and aren’t you amazed at the power of social media?

One day I said to Larry, I have not heard from so-and-so I hope that they are ok…..he said: Why are you worried? They only made fun of us, calling us names of prim and proper TV sit-com people, laughing at us behind our backs. I said:Gosh. All this time, I thought they were just teasing us. If I used the word BUMMER, I would put it right here.

I am completely off of Face Book now and have a private Instagram with only my favorite of all people as friends and I have a public Instagram where any Tom, Dick or Harry can check out what is happening. I will try to put a widget for my public Instagram on the side…….how do you do that? I giggle.

(Look for robintoujours on Instagram. It is public. ? Wink.)

I AM tired. Exhausted in fact. I see my oncologist next week and hope to figure a few things out. Till then, I thank you for reading blog, remembering my birthday, sending good thoughts, texts and sharing happy moments.

Life is a tricky balance. How are YOU doing? Email me of you need to talk. If you need a friend, in fact, even if I am like June Lockheart…..I am still a good friend. (I honestly did not know that our friends were making fun of us. Perhaps that says it all)

The rant is over. I am boiling potatoes for potato salad…..have to scoot.

Love you beyond the moon.

Another Day

It is Thursday. My days are so busy that I don’t have time to gather thoughts and photos for Blog.

We are at day 4 of Camp Robi and all is well. Matilda is a gem and each moment with her a complete joy.

I am taking photos of each day and will share next week, when my house is once again quiet.

It is early. Campers are ready for another big day, but as we become weary, our view of life, kindness and love have become evident. Being kind and thoughtful is free and loving each other is a joy.

Have a wonderful day. I hope that someone shows you much kindness today…..

Love you beyond the moon.

Robin & Matilda

Birthdays and New Years

Weeks ago, I had another birthday. It was the best birthday ever and I will remember it for a very long time.

I am re-naming my birthday. It will be called my New Year. Each year in the future, the day before my birthday will be my New Years Eve and on my day, it will be Robin’s New Years Day.

This year is the year of The Bird. (for obvious reasons of course)

I must get Miss Camper ready for another day of Robi Camp….

Love you beyond the moon.

Camp Mail

It is true. I have a passion for REAL mail. I love to write it and receive it in our sweet mailbox. I think that Matilda loves to write letters too…

Camp has started. It has been amazing and to be honest, just being with Matilda is a joy.

We have a camp mailbox and every day, we write notes to each other.Matilda made the mailbox and gave us instructions for the notes to kind and full of happy. (She made the box on Fathers Day and filled it with notes for Larry. We are recycling).

The mail is opened each evening. We are keeping our own mail, I will save the notes in my memory book and keep them forever.

Life is truly about the simple things in life, isn’t it?

Love you beyond the moon.

The Mail Box

It is 70 degrees outside and raining, on June 22nd! in Texas! (Unheard of) It feels perfect outside.

Today is day one of Camp Robi. We leave to pick up my favorite girl, Matilda, soon and The Cottage is ready.

Yesterday, she sent something special for camp…..

She had made a Fathers Day Mail box with mail in it for Larry. Then she sent it to the cottage, to use for camp mail. I believe she has mail in it already!

Yesterday, fathers day was wonderful. I am married to the best father in the world….Larry is on vacation this week. (for Camp. He is a good sport too)

Love you beyond the moon.

Larry’s LOVE COIN

The large patch of jasmine in front of the house needed trimmed. Larry will not let me do it and the patch is filled with poison ivy, that he is extremely allergic to.

Yesterday, was the day, he trimmed the patch, put his equipment away and comes into the laundry room, where he strips down and puts the clothes into the washer. From there, he goes straight to the shower and gets any poison ivy off of him. I start the washer. It is a well timed process to keep him rash free.

He came running into my work room after his shower, almost in a panic. He had left his coin in the pocket of his pants. The LOVE COIN. The love coin is a sweet thing. It is sterling silver and he carries it everywhere he goes. I gave it to him about 11 years ago and it has had a few close calls. (being lost, etc) I love how he loves it.

Don’t you hate when you do that? Forget something and almost lose it? The panic is indescribable.

I love Larry’s LOVE COIN too.

Love you beyond the moon.

I Picked Out A Few Things

Yesterday was a good day. I got things done and enjoyed myself in the process.

I have been walking. A lot. Larry is my coach and he does not let me get out of anything. I promise that I try. He walks with me each day and we walk 3.5 miles 5 times a week.

I do not weigh myself any longer. I take one vitamin D and have a yogurt each morning. (My endocrinologists’ breakfast suggestion)

Yesterday, after all our exercise and chores were complete, we went to the garden center. The plants were amazing and I picked out a few things for the back garden.

The fire pit is ready for Camp Robi (cooking out hot dogs and s’mores) and the sitting area is the perfect place to cool off after an almost 4 mile walk. Look at the wonderful plants!

I would like to thank everyone who has shared their favorite Camp Songs with me….they are on the camp list. Imagine us singing them around the fire pit!

I wish you the happiest of days…..

Love you beyond the moon.
