Can You Guess? OR On The Christmas List

It is guess time.

Can you guess what I have been doing?

Well, I have been testing a new kitchen gadget.

It is time to plan party menus, guest lists

and decide how I will set my table……

one of my favorite times of year.

For my birthday I was given a waffle bowl maker.

{I wanted one for ages}

I have saved it till now, the holidays.

Today was test and taste test day.

I made them.

I ate them

and

I cannot wait to make a dozen of them for the freezer!

{I used Bisquick waffle mix for the batter}

If you are looking for a Christmas gift for someone

who likes gadgets like I do,

this is one for the list.

I LOVE this thing. {it was easy to use too}

I have a list of ideas for fillings….so excited!

Presto Waffle Bowl Maker, I love you beyond the  moon.

Me.

Sad To Be Home?

Good Morning!

This morning, I took a perfect photograph of my breakfast.

Pumpkin bread.

When I uploaded it, it vanished. {I think}

So in its place you get a photograph of the sandwich and wine dinner

we had on the night in Paris, when we filled out our Holiday Cards.

Yes,  we get buzzed and fill out greeting cards.

Don’t you?

I am smiling & giggling here at The Cottage.

We ate dinner, drank wine and had eclairs for dessert.

Perfect moments…..

Yes, I am sad to be home…..

but good things are on my calendar.

Lots of good things!

(stay tuned}

So, today, Wednesday, I send you hugs

and love you.

Me.

It Is All In The Perspective

Hi!

It is good to b e home, but…..

how can I explain my moments while in France?

Each November for many years,

escaping with the love of my life

gives me many things.

A perspective of life.

Inspiration.

Romance.

New and old friends.

FOOD!

So much more,

and as in the photo above,

playing chess with Larry.

{he was setting up the board}

The above photo is my photo….

the photo below is Larry’s.

Larry’s memory is different than mine.

{we had panini, crisps and wine for lunch}

The chess game was a draw.

Imagine how I could have beat him

if I had not been drinking wine.

It is all in the perspective…..

Love you beyond the moon,

Me

My Wonderful Life

Good morning, cast of characters!

Yes, this is the group that greets me  each morning.

My worktable is a complete, wonderful, disaster

that I find inspiring and colorful.

Yesterday, Larry and I took a drive out to Farmersville, TX.

I spent an hour in the yarn shop,

THE FIBER CIRCLE

touching, daydreaming, planning

and much to Larry’s happiness

finally checking out with with new yarns.

***

We came home for Sunday Dinner and Movie.

We grilled steaks on the grill, baked potatoes,

steamed green beans

for dessert I made an old fashioned  Lazy Daisy Cake.

It was good, a little to sweet,

WAIT! What am I saying? Never to sweet!

It was perfectly delicious.

During dinner, our movie was:

While We’re Young

We LOVED it.

It is relevant to what is happening today

and

Larry and I are still chuckling about some things in the movie.

***

This  is my last post for a few weeks.

{and I am closing down Face Book}

I wish you happy days and many smiles.

Love you beyond the moon.

Friday Musings

It is finally Friday.

My cold is still in control, I give it till Monday

then I will call Dr L. {sad face}

Larry is at meetings already

and

I must make brownies after I post this.

These are Larry’s favorite brownies.

Tonight we will have a picnic before the theater. {with brownies!}

We will see

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE.

This is a photo from the play….

whats your guess?

Lizzie or Jane?

YESTERDAY

I went to book club.

We had a wonderful lunch and great discussion.

It was my turn to pick out our next book

and I chose…..

Yes, I have read the book….it hits close to home.

***

I must away to make brownies.

Soon, I will be taking my annual, November blog break.

I am going to miss you guys.

Love you.

PS

Full moon is tomorrow night.

The Frost Moon.

Book Club Day

“What’s the point of having a book club if you don’t get to eat brownies and drink wine?”

~Jami Attenberg~

I love book club day.

This  past month, we read:

The Paris Architect

{it was brutal and thoughtful. I liked it}

I get to pick out the next book for club….

will let you know the title tomorrow.

Love you.

Happy November

Halloween was over much to quickly this year.

We celebrated in the country last Sunday.

While the kiddos traveled to houses via hay rides,

Lauren served us goodies and Champagne at her house

while she handed out candy.

The Millers came to life as Little Red Riding Hood.

I wore a dress, with a knife through my head.

BUT…..Matilda stole my knife.

soooooo

Red Riding Hood, slashed?

Jamison had to work and we missed her very much.

Maybe next year, Jami?

I have been really sick.

Is it a cold? The flu?

I give myself one more day

then off to the DR.

Have you had YOUR flu shot yet this year?

{I had mine  weeks ago….go figure}

Happy November.

It is the month of gratitude.

What are you grateful for?

Love you.
